THE Isabel provincial government has seen the importance of infrastructure developments as a wheel for economic developments, says its premier James Habu.
Mr Habu highlighted this in his presentation last week, during the 8th Premiers Conference in Honiara.
He stated that the policy statement of the province is to develop infrastructure plans to foster accessibility to economic areas.
“The priority areas of the current government on infrastructure development in the province are, building of road connections to economic regions (mainly on agriculture and agro-forestry) in the province, additional airports to improve tourism development, and Tatamba economic Centre,” Mr Habu said.
He also explains the vision statement of his government in developing opportunities for Isabel Province and its people through leadership efforts, and effective services delivery mechanism, in socio-economic, cultural and spiritual development.
The premier however, urged the national government to assist build roads, bridges, and airports around the island to boost economic growth in Isabel.
