THE Honiara City Council (HCC) Acting Mayor, Robert Oge, has called on other illegal markets within the city for mutual cooperation with HCC as is the case of the Fishing Village Market.
The call was purposely made for illegal market operators in the capital to support HCC initiatives to make it a clean city just as the management of the Fishing Village Market had done in closing down the illegal market outlet.
“I appeal to other markets within the city to do the same and respect and uphold the Honiara City Council Market Ordinance,” Acting Mayor said.
Mr Oge highlighted the importance of Honiara residents working together with HCC to make Honiara a clean city for everyone to live.
“HCC really needs your cooperation in ensuring that we uphold the HCC Market Ordinance,” the Acting Mayor expressed.
“Markets around the city must work hand-in-hand with HCC to change the face of Honiara city.
“HCC now looks forward for mutual support from all residents of the city to address illegal vending,” Mr Oge added.
