Dear Editor – I recommend the Minister of Home affairs & Deputy PM Mannaseh Maelanga for being considerate and the lengthy impasse which rocked the Honiara City Council.
In the past HCC was subjected to prompt dissolutions, a precedence Mr Maelanga would not want to pursue out rather prefers to sort things out amicably.
He’s got a heart for the elected councillors who had the electorates in the city to look after at the outset the Minister can exercise his power to axe the council if things cannot be resolved as may have been advice.
Dissolution is a bad thing; it tarnished the councillors who are affected and cause them to be miserable and can end a political career.
