A HEADMASTER at a primary school in Gela, Central Province has been charged and remanded in custody for allegedly raping his 15 year-old step daughter.
The man who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim is facing two counts of indecent act without consent and five counts of rape.
The maximum penalty for the indecent act without consent is seven years imprisonment while that of rape is one of life imprisonment.
A remand application has been made on Tuesday for a 14 day remand of which Magistrate Emily Zazariko granted.
The accused is due in court again on November 27.
He is charged in relation to allegations on unknown dates between 1 July 2018 and 22 October 2018.
All the incidents were said to have occurred in their residence within the school compound.
Prosecution alleged that during the offending, the accused would threatened the alleged victim not to tell anyone about what had happened and that if she reported the matter, he will not pay her school fees.
He would also allegedly threaten to kill her if she ever told anyone of what he did to her.
The alleged incidents happened when the alleged victim came home from school and at nights when she was asleep with her siblings.
