A HEALTH team of 11 officers have been deployed to Malaita Outer Islands from Honiara on Friday evening.
Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) Permanent Secretary (PS) Pauline McNeil confirmed this during the National Oversight Committee Talk Back Show on Sunday.
Mrs McNeil said the deployment is part of the provincial deployment the Ministry of Health and Medical Services has been doing in the past couple of weeks.
“On Friday evening we sent a health team consisting of the 11 officers, who left for MOI on a deployment mission.
“Basically this mission is to assess the current status of COVID-19 outbreak; vaccination rollout as well as routine vaccination, conducts some doctors’ consultation as well as assessment of the health facilities at Pelau and Luaniau,” she said.
She said early this week, they will send another team to Kilu’ufi Hospital.
She said the same team after completing their work at Kilu’ufi Hospital will go to Atoifi Hospital.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Service has beefed-up its provincial deployment.
