The hearing into the alleged sexual abuse of a seven year-old girl in Isabel last year has concluded on Monday, in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
Presentation of the closing submissions will be made before Principal Magistrate Shepherd Lapo on October 20 by the prosecution and the defence counsel.
The man in his 60’s stood trial for two counts of indecent assault that allegedly occurred on two occasions last year in Isabel.
Prosecution alleged he sexually abused the alleged victim at her parent’s house and on another occasion at a river near their village.
It was alleged that the accused was residing with the alleged victim at the time of the alleged offending.
Whitlam Togamae of Whitlam Togamae Lawyers represented the accused while Crown Prosecutor Sirepu Ramosaea represented the State.
