Man rapes his four baby daughters
A 36-year-old man has been arrested and remanded in custody for allegedly raping his four daughters between 2017 and July this year in Munda, Western Province.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said the suspect was arrested after the mother of the four victims reported the matter to the Munda Police.
“Police in Munda arrested a 36 year-old male for raping his step-daughter and three biological daughters in Munda on different occasions from 1 January 2017 to 31 July 2021,” Mr Mangau told reporters at his weekly conference yesterday.
He said the victims were aged two, one year and 11 months and two months at the time of the offending.
Mangau said the first incident occurred in January 2017 where the suspect allegedly had sexual intercourse with his two year-old step-daughter at their home village.
He said at that time the mother was away at the hospital to give birth to their second born child.
The second incident occurred on the 10 January 2019 in which the suspect allegedly had sexual intercourse with his second born daughter at their home village while her mother and third born daughter was away from home.
The victim was also only two years old at that time.
Mr Mangau told reporters that the third incident happened on two different dates in July this year where the suspect had sex with his third and fourth child.
The two victims were aged one year and 11 months and two months old.
He said their mother was at that time in their kitchen busy preparing food.
“The suspect also threatened to kill his wife and the four children if his wife reported the matter to the police.”
The mother of the victims, however, went and lodged her complaint to the Munda Police Station which saw the arrest of the suspect on 9 August this year.
Investigation into this matter is continuing.
