THE Inauguration of the Solomon Islands High School Choral Fest is set down for July 8-10 at the National Museum’s Auditorium.
The theme for the choral festival is, “Powerful beyond measure”, with an aim of inspiring, empowering, and uplifting young people through the Pacific Performing arts.
A team from the Pacifika Voices that was led by renowned musician/choral master Maestro Igelese Ete revealed this yesterday..
“We were here to engage our young people in doing positive things in life. To inspire, empower, and uplift our young people,” Mr Ete said.
“They have been doing choral fests in various countries in the Pacific Islands.
“We have done it in Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand and now the Solomon Islands. We will be extending our training down to the provinces.
“The next countries we will be engaging are Vanuatu and New Caledonia”.
After the inauguration, the group will make the event annual one to engage youths doing something positive to the communities.
As of yesterday, more than 300 students from schools all over the Solomon Islands have registered.
Students from Renbel, Guadalcanal, Honiara and Makira have arrived for the Choral sets and many more to be registered.
