A HIP-HOP dance festival is set to go down Friday at the National Art Gallery grounds, Honiara, starting at 12 noon.
This festival is a fundraiser for the winning Solomon Islands hip-hop dance crews who will be representing the country in this year’s World Supremacy Battlegrounds in Sydney Australia, from September 9th-11th.
The three winning crews are Kuzzens, Tia Dropz, and Milkshake.
Tia Dropz crew will be the host, while Kuzzens and the Milkshake crews are co-hosts to the festival.
The winners were declared after competing in the Battlegrounds Solomon Islands (BGSI) dance competition which was organized by local events group Hailie’s Entertainment (HE) together with Flipnoise and a number of devoted sponsors.
After a couple of hard fought battles between some of the best dance crews in the country, the three crews were announced as winners.
Kuzzens finished at the top, followed by Tia Dropz and Milkshake as runner ups.
The Solomon Star understands that, the World Supremacy Battlegrounds was also rated as the number one street dance competition in the Southern Hemisphere.
As part of the festival, various dance crews in town will also be showcasing their dance routines as entertainment.
A battle competition for junior dancers will also be staged at the festival.
Meanwhile, the admission fees for adults and children are $20.00 and $10.00 respectively.
