The Solomon Islands Hockey Federation (SIHF) has released the names of players selected for the U23 national hockey training squad.
SIHF president Nihal Seneviratne revealed this to Star Sports yesterday.
“The selection of players was done by SIHF officials and the players were selected from recently completed Hockey School league and current club league in Honiara,’’ he said.
“The selected list comprises of players from eight schools and two clubs.”
He stressed, the squad will be trimmed as time goes on to form the national U23 squad which will represent Solomon Islands in the upcoming Junior World Qualify in Australia, January 2016.
Meanwhile Nihal urges all the selected players to attend their first training session at SMI sports grounds on Wednesday, 4pm.
