WITH the 2025 Oceania Junior World Cup Qualifiers (OJWCQ) coming up, the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) Wellbeing Lifestyle Performance (WLP) Department has conducted engaging education awareness sessions for the country’s national Under-21 Hockey Teams at the SINIS High-Performance Centre.
The Wellbeing Lifestyle Performance (WLP) education sessions for the national hockey teams were conducted for both the men’s team and women’s team.
According to SINIS High-Performance Centre, the engaging education awareness sessions focused on Sleep Hygiene, Leadership, Role Modelling and Maintaining focus during competition.
During the sessions, the athletes actively participated in discussions and presentations on managing controllable and uncontrollable factors during competitions.
Facilitating the WLP education awareness sessions were SINIS WLP Coordinator Carlson Hagemana and WLP Department Coach Diana Mafuara.
The sessions were part of the country’s National Hockey Teams’ preparation for the 2025 Oceania Junior World Cup Qualifiers, which will be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from January 29 to February 2.
The other competing nations, apart from Solomon Islands, are New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea.
