Hearts of Hope (HOH), a non-government organisation groups in Malaita has expressed sympathy to the family of a young girl allegedly stabbed to death by her brother in-law on New Year’s Eve.
The girl from Isabel Province died from multiple stab wounds according to police.
Founder and president of HO Janet Justus Aihari described the incident as tasteless.
“It was heartened to learn of such horrific killing of a young innocent life.
“Such acts must never be tolerated in our society,” Mrs Aihari said.
She urged police to do all they can to ensure the accused face maximum punishment.
She appealed to fathers to respect their families.
“Some fathers are aggressive, but fathers must know that anger is controllable.
“Practice patience and control your anger. It will take time to sink in but that is the only way to enjoying a happy family.”
She called on Solomon Islanders to respect each other this year and allow God to rule hearts.
