HEARTS of Hope (HOH) charitable Organization in Malaita has dressed 40 babies with shirts and caps at Auki clinic, Thursday.
The assistance is of the charity group’s support to elderly people and orphans in Malaita province.
Most of the children who received the shirts and caps are from rural communities around Auki area.
Speaking to Solomon star, one of the mother Lisa Gau, who’s child received a gift from the Hearts of Hope Organisation, described the support as an opportunity for her little baby.
She said the surprising gift will enable her to save some money intended for the things received.
“I believe my baby will enjoy the new shirt and cap” Mrs Gua said.
HOH president Janet Aihari said the support is part of the organisation’s ongoing charitable assistance to children, orphans and elderly people in the rural communities.
She said HOH hopes will offer hope and comfort to the recipients.
She added that HOH wants to see helpless children and elderly people to be part of life and enjoy the same privileges as everybody in the society.
She said a similar assistance of table cloth was also handed over to Auki clinic which may help the clinic in one way or the other.
Mrs. Aihari acknowledged the Helping Hand group from New Zealand for channelling the babies clothings through her organization.
She stressed that without the assistance of the Helping Hand, these babies may not get this much needed support.
She also thanked the Auki clinic staff for working together with them to arrange the event and make it happened.
Mrs Aihari said HOH intends to visit Rafufu clinic in West Kwaio constituency once things are possible.
