Honiara High School hockey team has once again proved their supremacy in sports competitions in the national capital.
This came after their men’s hockey team added another title to their records for this year’s competitions.
Honiara High finished top of the men’s High School hockey league with 17 points which is two clear points away from their top rivals in the league.
President of the Solomon Islands Hockey Federation (SIHF) Nihal Seneviratne revealed this to Star Sports yesterday.
“Honiara High School men’s team are the champions of the school league in Honiara,’’ he said.
“They snatched the top position after winning five matches and draw two with a total of 17 points, he stressed.
Nihal congratulated the winning team for their hard work during the games as well as the rest of the competing teams to end the league on high note.
“I would also like to thank Hockey officials for their support as well as Solomon Islands Ports Authority, Woodford School, Don Bosco Technical Institute and Tenaru School for allowing their grounds for the competition,’’ he said.
Selwin College and KG school are on the second and third spots respectively with 15 points each followed by Tenaru with 13 points, Don Bosco 11 points Bishop Epale five points, Woodford two points and St Nicholas registered one point.
St Nicholas College are the champions of the Women’s league.
Meanwhile Seneviratne said official closing and prize presentation will be held on first week of December.
