THERE is need for Honiara City Council to open some of its clinics during weekends to take up some of the burden currently vested upon National Referral Hospital.
National Referral Hospital chief executive officer Dr George Malefoasi made this statement at a press conference on Tuesday.
The press conference was organised following growing concerns from members of the public over the lack of beds and overcrowding at the National Referral Hospital.
Dr Malefoasi said if some Honiara City Council clinics open during weekends or open late, they can help ease the burden on National Referral Hospital.
“We want some of the HCC clinics to open over the weekends to take up some burden vested upon NRH,” he said.
