A family lost everything when their home was razed to the ground on Friday afternoon at Lau Valley, east Honiara.
Information reaching the Solomon Star said it was a permanent home.
Fire fighters arrived at the scene but were not able to save the building.
The cause of the fire was still unknown and there were no reports of casualty as all family members escaped safely, leaving all their belongings behind.
However, some eye witnesses suspected that it was an electrical fault that may have resulted in the house fire, since the family cannot trace anything that lead to the cause of the fire.
