THE Honiara Rugby Union Association (HRUA) has called on all rugby clubs that are planning to participate in this year’s HRUA league to step up their training.
HRUA President Brian Taupiri said all clubs must be well prepared to this year’s competition scheduled for March 14th.
“All the clubs must step up their preparations for the HRUA competition this year.
“When all teams are well prepared, the competition will become tougher thus will raise the standard of rugby in the country,” he said.
The newly elected HRUA executive is eyeing to host one of the most organized and tough rugby competitions.
To do so they have started off their term in office with a few changes, one of which is to monitor clubs that they do their trainings well ahead of any HRUA competitions.
They will be visiting the clubs during their training sessions to make sure all intending clubs are preparing well.
Other changes will be punctuality for matches and appointment of a committee to manage and run logistics work.
HRUA believes these will surely have a positive impact on the standard of rugby in the country.
Meanwhile, all HRUA clubs are called to pay up their registration fees.
The closing date for all submissions will be a week before the competition kicks off.
