The fifth Melanesian Culture and Arts Festival have attracted hundreds of people from all over Papua New Guinea and others from seven other participating countries.
The event was officially opened at the Ela Beach in the PNG Capital Port Moresby on Saturday.
Since then people came in increased numbers to witness the event.
Hundreds of tourists from within PNG, Australia and other countries also flocked the country to witness the biggest traditional event unfold.
Solomon Islands is represented by cultural dancers, cultural musicians, weavers and musical artists the likes of Sharzy, Paeva and Dezine.
Meanwhile security at all satellite venues has been beefed up to provide security for visitors and the participants for the two weeks of showcasing the different cultures.
