The race for the golden boot title experienced a sudden twist in ranks following Solomon Warriors FC goal galore against West Honiara on Wednesday.
Warriors striker, Dennis Ifunaoa replaced Western United FC’s striker, James Naka to take the lead with 25 goals.
Ifunaoa with the support of team mates scored 10 goals in yesterday’s match against West Honiara which ended in a 13-3 victory.
He has one more match against Marist FC to extend the lead.
Ifunaoa has a high chance to take this season’s golden boot award if he extends his tally in Warriors remaining match with a higher goal margin.
James Naka settles on second place with 19 goals scored from 14 matches played, he has two matches left to add on to his tally.
Closing in on third place is Atkin Kaua of Marist FC with 10 goals, Western United’s, Moffat Kilifa with nine goals and Harrison Mala with eight goals.
However the chances of finishing this season with the highest of goals remains wide open as each club still has less than three matches left to play before the season ends which will give players a chance of extending their number of goals.
