POLICE commissioner Mostyn Mangau says he will be updating the media when shop owners who illegally sold t-shirts and shorts bearing the 2023 Pacific Games Logo and Mascot are charged.
At his weekly conference with the media on Thursday, Commissioner Mangau said they have received the complaints about the matter and are investigating it.
“I will update you when investigation is completed and people or shop owners are charged,” he told reporters.
Police Officers in Honiara and the Games Organising Committee (GOC) in early April this year raided and confiscated t-shirts with the Pacific Games Logo and shorts with the Games’ Mascot in a few shops in Point Cruz, Honiara.
According to GOC, it is illegal for any shops to sell any merchandise with the Pacific Games Logo and Mascot without their permission.
