A 33-year-old man who sexually abused two women at Gela, Central province last month will face the Honiara Magistrates’ Court again next month.
Luke Vele who is in custody is yet to see a lawyer to assist him with his case.
The court told him that he needs to see the correctional service unit to help him make a request to the Public Solicitor’s Office for legal assistance.
Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika gives him time to do that until July 4, when he returns to court.
Vele is facing charges of rape, attempted rape and indecent assault in relation to allegations on May 21 and May 27, this year at Gela.
He allegedly raped the first victim at her bush garden.
She was working at her bush garden alone when the accused came and raped her.
The second victim was Vele’s neighbour.
Vele allegedly tried to rape her at night but ended up indecently assaulted her when she was walking from the beach up to her home.
Police said Vela let her free when other fishermen shone their torches their way.
