CIRCULATION of local pornographic materials is reportedly increasing in the country.
These are being shared or blue toothed on mobile phones and the internet.
Speaking to this paper, Godfrey Abia of the Police Media Unit said that police are aware of such, however could not make arrests or lay charges without sufficient evidences.
Police have also confirmed receiving reports of certain individuals having in possession with them pornographic materials.
“Anyone who is found to have with them pornographic materials would be questioned,” Mr Abia said.
“They would be treated as being the producer or supplier of such materials and would have to explain themselves to police or be charged,” he added.
Mr Abia said that apart from that, if no sufficient evidence is available then it would be treated as mere speculation.
Police also said that with the many new technologies available to people today, such materials can be easily produced or spread amongst mostly youths.
