The installation of the palm oil mini-milling machine on Vangunu, Marovo lagoon, Western province is proposed to take place next month.
Permanent secretary of the ministry of agriculture and livestock (MAL) Jimmi Salea revealed this yesterday while updating the paper on the progress of work at the site.
He said at the moment construction is underway for a semi-permanent building to install the mini-milling machine which should be completed early next month.
“At the moment, construction of the building to install this machine is underway at Subolo in Merusu and more likely installation should be done in August.”
He said the machine is already in Honiara awaiting the completion of this building.
The delay in the installation of the machine has been attributed to delay in the release of finance.
