CHILD Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Solomon Islands on Saturday held an Inter-denominational Children’s Rally at the South Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) Central Church in Honiara.
The event saw children’s clubs, Sunday school groups and teachers from different denominations in Central Honiara zones came together to teach and share God’s word to the children.
The rally was celebrated based on the theme; ‘Be a Hero for Jesus.’
Its purpose was to evangelize boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipline them in the word of God and to establish them in a Christian believing church for Christian living, said CEF Staff James Aralolu.
“The aim of the CEF program in the Solomon Islands is to reach children in the Solomon Islands to come in one belief and unite in working together in one purpose that is to serve God and serve people.”
CEF is made up of more than 200 countries globally and divided into 8 regions.
Solomon Islands is one of its member countries under the Asia-Pacific region.
“CEF is a children’s ministry or organization which focused on children.”
The activities include Inter-denominational children’s rallies, Good news clubs, Christmas party clubs, Easter party clubs and even on special occasions we can also support children in Sunday school activities and programs from different denominations, he added.
St. Barnabas Cathedral Senior Sunday school teacher Michael Palmer said, such rallies is valuable and important especially for the children and teenagers to learn how other churches conduct their worship and pray.
“I like to encourage us that in the body of Christ, we don’t have denominations, or maybe many parts, but the word of God tells us that we are one body.
“I like to encourage our children and young people to see what are these children are doing.
“I would like to say that Sunday school doesn’t stop at children it also accommodates young people as well.
“It is very important for all our churches since this kind of thing will build the life of our children.
“All of us are born out from our own cultures and way of life, but to be a child of God we should live the way God want us to be.
“How and when this can happen is in the context of discipleship, we come to teach the word of God and meet frequently,” the ACOM Sunday School teacher said.
The event concluded with Bible lesson sharing and Sunday schools item presentation.
