The Institute of Public Administration & Management (IPAM) receives pioneer recognition award in the ICDL Asia annual forum in Singapore on Wednesday 2nd April 2014.
The award was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service, Mr. Ishmael Avui.
The International Computer Drivers Licence (ICDL) Pioneer award recognizes IPAM as the very first centre in the Pacific Islands to deliver the ICDL program since August 2009.
The ICDL Asia General Manager based in Singapore, Mr. Daniel Palmer commented, “We would like to commend IPAM for being able to sustain the delivery of ICDL programme and testing despite being located in a remote location with erratic internet connectivity”.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service who led the 3 person delegation to the ICDL Asia annual forum thanked the ICDL Asia team for the surprise and honour in recognising IPAM’s hard work and effort in sustaining the program despite challenges encountered.
He added that this recognition will motivate IPAM to continue to strive towards improving infrastructure and delivery of the ICDL program to all public servants to achieve relevant computing skills that will contribute towards improving their performance at work.
ICDL program is meant to equip public officers with the right ICT skills that will enable officers to work effectively.
