TWO officials from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in Malaysia are currently in Solomon Islands on a 10 visit.
IPPF regional manager Subatra Jayaraj said the visit was to monitor and evaluate the work of Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA) inside our communities.
Ms Jayaraj said 15 communities in East Guadalcanal will be visited.
“We will observe activities SIPPA conducted in communities which are mobile clinic and awareness program on reproductive health,” she said.
“To see how effectively volunteers and nurses provide service to people in the communities.”
The visit has started Wednesday last week.
Ms Jayaraj said it was interesting to see how services SIPPA provided have developed the lives of people in rural areas.
She said many people are interested in attending SIPPA programmes to learn about reproductive health issues.
She encouraged SIPPA workers to continue the good work they have done for people in East Guadalcanal and urged them to expand their services to West Guadalcanal.
