Work on the new Isabel industrial township is making progress.
Thats according to chief industrial officer at Buala commerce office Clifton Basil who revealed that work on the proposed township is being done on government land in Kia.
He said this in Buala during a meeting held with SIVB and Buala tourism operators last Friday
The officer explained the province wants to develop the new site to be a commercial and industrial centre for the province.
Next week Br Basil said he will be visiting the site to discuss with some of the people residing on the land about the provincial government’s plan for the land.
Mr Basil added the proposed land is two times the size of Honiara.
“The province intends to move all development activities to the new site since Buala township could not for anymore development.
“Buala will still remain our provincial headquarter but this new proposed land would be our priority,” he added.
