THE Ambassador of Israel to Solomon Islands, Roi Rosenblit, has presented His Credentials to the Acting Governor General, Patterson Oti yesterday morning.
In welcoming the Israeli ambassador, the Acting Governor General, Sir Patterson, said the relationship between Solomon Islands and Israel is historical, since Solomon Islands is named after the biblical king of Israel ‘King Solomon’ and echoed that this perspective has always been the basis that artistically connects and bonds Solomon Islands with Israel.
Sir Patteson also conveyed to Ambassador Rosenblit that the people and Government of Solomon Islands have profound trust in Israel as a partner and will continue to work together with the Israeli Government to develop this cordial partnership to achieve lasting prosperity, trust, and cooperation in matters of mutual interest going forward.
This visit is the first by any Israeli Government representative to Solomon Islands in the covid-19 post pandemic era, thus, brings forth the opportunity for face-to-face dialogue between both parties to enhance and promote meaningful cooperation between their two countries.
The Israeli ambassador later had courtesy meetings with the Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare, the Supervising Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Peter Shanel Agovaka and the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Augustine Auga.
