The budding business community in Solomon Islands have again benefitted from Israeli business experts in a series of workshops undertaken in Honiara in the last couple of weeks.
A team of Israeli experts arrived in the country at the end of July and have carried out a number of skills transfer workshops in Honiara targeting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) stakeholders and stand alone consultants providing advisory and support services to the sector plus a workshop only for women entrepreneurs.
The program from “Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Centre” is part of an ongoing program with MASHAV (Israel’s Agency for International Cooperation and Development) which is part of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem, which collaborates with the Small & Medium Enterprises Council of Solomon Islands (SMEC SI).
The two weeks mission in the country also included collaboration with the WTO EIF unit in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & External Trade and Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA).
In a moving evaluation on the first workshop targeting MSME Stakeholder’s, Ms Jessica Warahiru – Program Officer from SIWIBA said, ” this workshop is one of the best I have attended”.
“Skills acquired from the Israel experts will enable me to improve my role in this organisation,” she said.
Fifty people benefited from the Israeli technical expertise in the last two weeks up till Friday the 11th of August.
