BRITISH Virgin Islander singer, songwriter Iyaz has arrived in the country yesterday and is ready to rock the stage tonight at the Pacific Casino hotel.
The 3x Platinum R&B/Island Pop recording artist is currently doing his Australia Pacific Islands tour for the 10th Anniversary of his worldwide hit song ‘Replay’ with DJ Victor and the tour’s hype man DJ Diction who also sang on the song ‘Island girls’.
The tour started on Thursday 9th January Gold Coast Australia, Friday 10th Mackay Australia, Saturday 11th Townsville Australia, Thursday 16th Noumea New Caledonia, Friday 17th Melbourne Australia, Saturday 18th Sydney, Australia and Suva, Fiji Wednesday 22nd before travelling over to the Solomon Islands.
The king of island pop in an interview with PAOA FM after his arrival yesterday afternoon said that he is so excited to visit the Solomon Islands for the first time.
“So far its kinda feels like home cause when coming in before we landed, we saw the reefs and the waters blue and it really feels like home, my island home man,’’ he said.
He said that he really enjoyed his pacific tour so far and has received many positive feedbacks from fans from the past shows in the passing days.
“All the shows so far have been super energetic. Everybody that came out was supportive and we had a good time and there were many good feedbacks on Instagram, facebook, Twitter and everybody just show how much they appreciate the music.”
Iyaz’s ‘Replay’ was a touring hit song in 2010 and was a collaboration with the famous R.City boys from the Saint Thomas US Virgin Islands.
Iyaz said he had seen some of the footage from the R.City tour here in Honiara last year and he knows that he’ll be having a good time with the fans here in Solomon Islands.
“Its gonna be crazy. I mean I’ve seen some footage of when my boys were here and definitely we are going to have a good time.
“To everybody who has been listening, downloaded streaming, buying my music watching my videos I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you guys and now you got a chance to actually see me live in person and have some fun.
“You’re not coming out just to see me perform and I’m coming out to enjoy the night with you guys so let’s make the night memorable, let’s have some fun and rock out,” said Iyaz.
Other local artists that will be also supporting the show are Ruff Neck, Sean Rii, Jah Boy, Flight Mode and Baka Solomon.
The show will be hosted by Top Entertainment and Pacific Casino hotel in collaboration with Dj Victor Lopez, DMP with the support of other sponsors Print Wise, SB and Canoe laga.
