First batch of Japanese volunteers are in the country to kick off their program in the country.
They will be working in various sectors including our health and education sector.
Yesterday after three Japanese who have arrived shared their experiences after a week of stay in Honiara.
The three volunteers are 27 years old male Nishiyama Yusuke who will teach science education at Anon Atomea Secondary school in North Malaita, Ito Yuko a woman aged 34 coming to work as a nurse at Kirakira, Makira Province and 31 years old lady named Amano Misato, who will work with the Honiara City Council Health Authority.
The three volunteers arrived here on Wednesday 8th last week and are preparing well to go into work this month.
They expressed happiness with laughter, as they shared their eight days experience in Honiara, saying that they feel welcome here, since Solomon Islanders are friendly people who always smile and greeted them everywhere they go.
They will be working as volunteers here for two years.
JICA coordinator added that some more Japanese volunteers are coming over this year to help in their development assistance program in Solomon Islands.
