JERRY Allen has been appointed head coach of the Solomon Islands U-19 national team for the upcoming OFC U-19 Championship to be hosted in Samoa in August this year.
Allen has a wealth of coaching experience with Hekari United in Papua New Guinea, Marist FC and recently coached Honiara City in the Telekom S-League for two seasons.
He was an assistant coach for the Solomon Islands U-19 national team in 2018 which came close to qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Allen is excited about the challenge but is optimistic the country has a good pool of players to select from.
SIFF President William Lai made the official announcement of Allen’s appointment yesterday in a press conference and he wish him all the best as Solomon Islands aim to qualify for the second time for a FIFA World Cup at the age-group level.
