JOHNSON and Johnson vaccine will be launched today in Honiara.
Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) permanent secretary Pauline McNeil confirmed this yesterday during a press conference in Honiara.
“We will launch the Johnson and Johnson vaccine tomorrow (today),” she said.
She said the vaccine is for the hard to reach areas.
She said the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is only one dose.
“You can only get one dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine, there will be no first and second doses but only one dose,” Mrs McNeil said.
She said the MHMS was in discussion with the police to support them administer the vaccine in the remote communities after today’s launching.
