SOLOMON Islands young swimming athlete, Bijay Ghusa Gharry will compete in the 2023 youth Commonwealth Games in Trinidad and Tobago today.
Gharry will be representing Solomon Island at the 2023 youth Commonwealth Games 50 meter with 100 freestyle races.
The Solomon Islands Swimming Federation confirmed that Gharry is the first youth swimming athlete that will compete at the Youth Commonwealth Games.
The Federation believes competing at the world stage is a big bonus for Solomon Islands Swimming and sports as a whole.
Competing in such big sporting event will give the young athletes exposure and experience since they will competing against other young top athletes.
Solomon Islands is represented by two athletes, one from swimming and the other, a female athlete for athletics.
