A 17-YEAR-OLD juvenile who broke into a house in Honiara and stole valuable properties will be sentenced today in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
This was after the juvenile, who could not be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to one count of house break-in, Tuesday.
His matter was mentioned yesterday in a closed court before Principal Magistrate Fatima Taeburi.
This was in relation to an allegation on the night of 17 April last year at Mbokonavera Four Heights, Honiara.
The accused broke into the house through a window and stole a wallet containing $100, two ATM cards and a student card, two laptops and a mobile phone.
The total costs of the stolen properties are more than $10,000.
The laptops and the mobile phone were recovered except for the wallet and its contents.
Ms Taeburi having entered the juvenile’s guilty plea and conviction further remanded him in custody to wait for his sentence.
Public Solicitor’s lawyer Daniel Kwalai is representing the juvenile while Police Prosecutor Iete Tebakota appeared for the State.
