KAKABONA Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) hive Church located in the West side of the city over the weekend successfully organised ‘a praise and give’ to help raise funds to support its Church building.
As part of supporting the Church a series of freewill offerings were collected in a number of SDA Churches located in the western side of Honiara before the event last Saturday.
At the final event on Sabbath more than $68, 000 was raised which has seen the contribution hitting more than $100, 000.
The money has now enabled the Church to purchase the land where the church is currently built on.
Landowners have offered the land at $40, 000.
The remaining money would be used to help the members build a new permanent Church building soon.
Church Elder has acknowledged the support from Church members and singing groups who have come out in numbers to support the event on Saturday.
Kakabona SDA Church was established more than seven years ago and comes under the main White River SDA Church.
One of the future visions of the Church is to build a Church school that would cater for quality education.
