KAKARA community high school (KCHS) in ward 4 of Malaita province on Thursday registered yet another historical and successful graduation.
A total of 48 students from years 9 and 11 graduated from the school by receiving their certificates of completion.
Its the forth graduation event hosted by the school since the introduction of its secondary stream in 2014.
The guest of Honour at the ceremony was the acting director of Teaching Service at the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development Mathias Kutai.
The school’s principal Fred Soaki during his remarks at the occasion acknowledged the final year students for choosing Kakara as their learning institute.
He reminded them to be prepared and ready for next week’s national examination which starts Monday.
He encourages those who will move to a new school next year to uphold integrity gain from Kakara CHS when they leave.
He further urges those who won’t make it to the next level next year to continue with their education at any rural training centre or even can become self-employment.
Mr Soaki also appeals to parents of Kakara CHS to actively support the education of their children.
“Remember your children are your future asset. Whatever you faithfully invest in them you are going to reap a wealth that will greatly benefit you in the future.
“Not only this, your daily parental support can boost your child/student learning capabilities,” the school boss said.
He thanked Mr Kutai for accepting the school invitation.
He also thanked the school supporting stakeholders, Provincial Assembly Member (MPA) for ward 4 in Malaita Ivan Tonafalea for a sum of $2000 which goes toward the prizes of the students.
He said it is a history for Kakara to have an officer directly from the ministry if education to be part of the ceremony.
