KATURASELE Community in South Choiseul will organise a centenary celebration to commemorate the arrival of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in their community 100 years ago.
The event will be held at the end of this year from 17 to 21 December.
This was agreed to during a first ever meeting held on Tuesday at Katurasele, a statement from the organising committee said.
At the first committee meeting, the proposed celebration theme: ‘Destiny for Eternity’ was agreed to.
“In its meeting today (Tuesday), the centenary committee has confirmed that December 17-21 2024 would be the days to celebrate the arrival of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Katurasele.”
It was stated that the Committee Chairman Gary Puisasa presented his strategic action plan and milestones for 12 consecutive months.
He reiterated that the success of the upcoming celebration depends entirely on their cooperation.
Hence, he encouraged everyone to create a community network and use this social platform to connect, participate and involve in this event that only happens every 100 years.
The ex-officio in the successful meeting were Kadukolo Silas and Rex Puisasa.
More fundraising activities, preparations and planning are expected to be done in the next 11 months of this year to prepare for the historic event.
