THE key points of the current reform programs that are exercised at the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) were revealed in a media statement recently.
The Solomon Star was well informed that, the number one goal in the reform activities was to lower the cost of living in the country.
It was understandable that, for the first time ever, the price of rice will fall dramatically. Setting the pace for like minded businesses to be socially responsible, these were some of the key points of the reform.
Other key points stated that, the reforms will lift the standard of living, deliver sustainable reform for future generations, they are the future of Solomon Islands.
Creating employment and small business opportunities for Solomon Islands; champion the government’s drive for reforms for the people, and changing the economic landscape of Solomon Islands for the people, are some of the other points.
The statement said that, this is a people reform.
“Very simply put, it is the reforms for lowering the cost of living. The people of Solomon Islands are the beneficiaries of this reform.
“The difference is that businesses focus on a return of investments, SIPA’s focus is to plough back profits into projects that will enhance and make a positive difference to the Solomon Islands life.
“SIPA management believes that the reform path that SIPA has initiated will positively contribute extensively to Solomon Islands,” the media statement added.
