Kolobangara Forestry Products Limited (KFPL) is facing a labour shortage to carry out work in its tree plantation on Kolombangara, Western province.
This came after the company continues to expand its operations this year.
KFPL personal manager Mayson Nesa speaking to the Solomon Star this week said his team conducted employment awareness on Rannogah and Vella La Vella islands.
He said the company is currently experiencing men-power shortage to work in the tree plantation. As part of their recruitment process they went out to the nearby islands to conduct awareness to tell them about their work and work conditions and benefits.
“Because of the labour shortage our team is visiting two of the islands in the province to conduct employment awareness to the communities and also sign up people who are interested to work for us.
“We want people who are willing and energetic to work in our tree plantation.”
He said recruiting rural people to work on the plantation is vital because they are hardworking and active people.
KFPL is one of biggest tree plantation companies operating reforestation in the country.
The other company is Eagon which has an operations on Arara, South New Georgia.
