Kastom Gaden Association (KGA) this week provides training for the victim of the recent flash flooding on how to plant and take care of the vegetable farms.
This comes about after they (KGA) supplied seedlings and planting materials to the victims and farmers.
KGA information officer Moses Rohana said since they are providing seedling to affected farmers, they also provide them with trainings on how to do nursery, planting and organic method.
“Yesterday we do training with communities Birao, east Guadalcanal and demonstrate how to make nursery, plant protection and planting using fertilizer.”
He said KGA wants to ensure that the victims and farmers who have been provided with the planting materials are also given the skills to plant and take care of their vegetables.
Meanwhile KGA will continue to assist affected farmers in the Guadalcanal. After east Gaudalcanal KGA will provide similar training to victims and farmers in west Guadalcanal.
“Despite engaging with more work and responsibility, we cannot leave them, we will continue to assist them till our program end,” Mr Rohana said.
