KILUSAKWALO Christian Community High School in Malaita province will accommodate only 20 students for its first ever form Seven (7) class this year.
This come after the school was given an offer to franchise the pacific TAFE Foundation Art program commencing this year.
School Principal Christian Mekope in an interview said the school is proud to have its first 20 students to attend their first form seven this year.
Also offering similar franchise to the Pacific TAFE Foundation Arts program is Arnon Atomea Provincial Secondary.
This means total of four schools in Malaita province now have form 7 level of Education.
The schools are SU’U National Secondary school, Aligegeo Provincial Secondary school, Arnon Atomea Provincial Secondary school and Kilusakwalo Christian Community High school.
Mr Mekope said according to the advice from the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development MEHRD Kilusakwalo will accommodate only 20 students for its first form seven this year.
Kilusakwalo is one of school with an appropriate and standard infrastructures and qualified teachers.
“It was through infrastructure and qualified teachers that we granted approval from the franchisor to take on form 7 Arts. For parents here, this franchise would help them a lot and save cost to send their kid to Honiara and reside with relatives.
“It is a relief for parents to cut down cost of fee and pocket money to send their kid to town”
“The franchise is important in terms of access and will immensely motivate rural schools’ students to work hard to meet the required aggregate and solve the issue of finding good schools that offers form 7 in Honiara.” Mr Mekope said.
However, Mr Mekope said he was proud that the achievement is a legacy for him in achieving a goal that he promises at the time of his appointment.
He added that despite the 6 months of schooling in 2022, he manages to put the necessary requirements in place in order that applications meet the requirements to qualify to Franchise the form 7 at Kilusakwalo School this year.
