THE Kilu’ufi Hospital Improvement Project is progressing smoothly, with earthworks excavation currently underway.
The improvement project is set to transform Kilu’ufi Hospital through the introduction of a new Outpatient Service facility, Maternal and Child Health facilities, Surgical Services, and Diagnostic Services.
Once completed, the upgraded hospital will also create additional jobs, offering new employment opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Before Christmas last year, the Malaita Provincial Premier Elijah Asilaua and his executive toured the Kilu’ufi Improvement Project site.
During the tour, the contractor briefed the group on the progress of the earthworks excavation.
In the revised budget for 2024/2025, Premier Asilaua expressed his government’s gratitude to the Japanese government for funding the project.
“The support from the Japanese government has been instrumental in the progress of this project,”
“The earthwork excavation is an important step, and once completed, the new hospital will contribute to creating a healthier workforce, which is critical for the region’s economic productivity and labor force,” Premier Asilaua said.
