Malaita Kingz FC will welcome their latest import player from Papua New Guinea (PNG) today.
Coach Rence Talo confirmed this to Star Sports on Tuesday.
“Kapuls midfielder Jacob Sabua will arrive tomorrow (today) from Papua New Guinea to join us for the TSL league,’’ Talo said.
“Sabua’s inclusion will complete our team as he will be playing as midfielder.”
Talo said his inclusion will also boost their striking force which will be led by PNG national striker and Oceania top scoring machine Tommy Semmy.
Kingz also signed Semmy the most feared striker who contributed to Marist FC’s victory last season.
Semmy played for Marist in the last season and his presence with the champions club was outstanding.
Kingz first match for the 2017/18 season is set for Sunday against Western United.
In leading up to the new season Talo and his boys defeated the men in orange 4-2.
Talo said their first match against United will be tough.
“Although we beat them in our friendly match; we will not underestimate them in our opening match.
“The match will be tough, I know they are prepared for us in our opening as all teams are vying for first win in their opening games,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Talo is expected to name his final squad today.
