Solomon Islands through the Ministry of Forestry and Research(MFR) will host a regional inventory training workshop on forestry in Kirakira, Makira/Ulawa province next month.
Terence Titiulu who is the Ministry’s Deputy Commissioner Resource Management said the training is to try out the outcome of the training which is currently underway in Honiara this week.
“The training to be organised in Kirakira next month is to try out the outcome of this week’s workshop.”
He said participants from Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea (PNG),Tonga, Cook Islands and other pacific island countries will attend the training.
It would be very educational and technical because it would involve workshops and field work.
“Since we are talking about the forest inventory from this workshop,first trials will happen next week in Kira Kira which would involve all pacific island countries,” he said.
The workshop which is currently underway at Honiara Hotel will end on Friday.
