The coach for the SIPA Futsal league champions, Kooline, Stanley Puiarana feels satisfied after winning the SIPA Top Eight Futsal Challenge third-fourth playoff at the Multipurpose Hall, Saturday.
Kooline defeated Mataks 8-4 in the loser’s final match on Saturday.
Puiarana said they concentrated on their defense and made use of their scoring chance.
“Really impressed with how we executed our game plan and finish off winners in this third and fourth playoff
“We worked on areas we failed to address in the semi-finals and it worked out well.
“We mainly concentrated on our defense,” he said.
Despite the defeat, Mataks coach Francis Lafai is also satisfied with the fighting spirit his young side showed against the SIPA league champions.
“I am happy with my boys, though we have not prepared well, we reached this stage.
“The boys did well to contain the experienced Kooline side.
“What’s more important is the lessons we learnt from this match, especially the whole tournament.
“We will work on areas we lack in and prepare for the big event which is the SIPA Futsal league,” the former Kurukuru player said.
Kooline finished third and received the bronze medals and a cash prize of $5000 dollars while Mataks received $3000 cash prize.
