Marist FC’s PNG import player, Koriak Upaiga will return to rejoin the team next week.
This was confirmed on Wednesday by the Marist Communication officer following questions from the public whether Koriak will be with the team for the Oceania Champions League.
Many Marist fans have also flooded the social media Facebook to question his availability for the Oceania Champions League since he has played a key role in Marist FC’s path for Oceania’s biggest football competition.
“Koriak is expected to return next week.
“His immigration documents have been sorted out and he will team up with the rest of the team soon,” according to Marist FC.
Koriak left the country after Marist’s Telekom S-league (TSL) campaign.
He had to wait for the immigration to sort out documents regarding his stay in the country before he returns.
Koriak is no new face in the Oceania Champions League having played in eight Oceania Champions League since 2010.
He first represented Hekari FC of PNG in 2010.
His first participation with Marist FC was in 2017 when Marist won the TSL league.
Koriak’s performance at the right back in the recent TSL season was second to none and his inclusion will be a boost to the Marist line more specifically the defense line up.
Marist is in group D and where matches will be hosted at the Lawson Tama Stadium starting on February 24.
