WORK on improving and securing the water source in Kunu community near the Malaita Provincial capital, Auki, is progressing well and nears completion.
Kunu, a community with no water supply from Solomon Water depends almost entirely on the water source for washing and cooking.
Lately, the Community Access & Urban Service Enhancement (CAUSE) Project saw the need to improve the water source and acted accordingly to the appreciation of the community who depend on this water source for their daily use.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki, CAUSE Project Resident Work Supervisor, Joe Ruriti said the project is progressing well and is expected to come to completion in the coming weeks.
Families in the community are looking forward to the completion of the project which will see them access clean and safe water.
The project covers concrete slabbing of the water source and fencing to avoid animals from entering and polluting it.
