SOLOMON Islands national Futsal team, Kurukuru finished off their first international friendly match against the Australian Futsalroos with a 1-1 draw at the Heffron Centre yesterday.
It was a tough contest between the two teams which ended with a nil all draw in the first half.
The hosts were the first to find the back of the net 24 minutes into the match, a goal by Daniel Fornito.
The Damon Shaw side maintained a strong defensive play and fought their way back with the equalizer by Charlie Otainao in the 32nd minute.
This is history for the Kurukuru team to end with a draw against the Futsalroos.
Futsalroos have played against Kurukuru in previous years and have won all encounters.
Not only is this history but is also a heads up for Kurukuru after losing their two international friendly matches against Vietnam in their recent Asian tour.
Kurukuru and the Futsalroos will play two more friendly matches.
The second match is set for tomorrow July 3rd and the third on Wednesday July 5th, both matches to be held at the Centre Dural.
