The national men’s futsal team has started their one week camp at home before their departure for Australia next week to wrap up their preparation for the FIFA Oceania World Cup qualifier.
Kurukuru has been under intensive training, putting in all efforts to be in top form for the World Cup Qualifiers.
Just before the festive season, Kurukuru went on a weeklong tour which they won two friendly matches against an Australian futsal club.
The tour was seen as boost to their preparations since they have started preparations a little late compared to other Oceania countries.
Six teams are confirmed to participate in the championship which is also the World Cup Qualifiers for the Oceania region.
They are defending champions Solomon Islands, New Zealand, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and host country Fiji.
The winner will qualify as the OFC representative at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia this year.
The 2016 OFC Futsal Championship will be held in Fiji from 8-13 February at Vodafone Arena in Suva.
